Upon arrival at the airport, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel in Colombo. You can rest all day after a long air journey at the hotel, Overnight stay at Hilton Colombo or a similar hotel in Colombo.
After enjoying a fresh tea and breakfast, the tour starts with a visit to the Muthurajawela marsh, a wetland located at the southern end of Negombo. A boat ride along the lagoon is a good experience for bird lovers. In the evening, you will drive to Kandy, and Overnight stay at The Golden Crown or a similar hotel in Kandy.
The day starts with a visit to the Pinnawala elephant orphanage to see milk feeding and elephant bathing. On the way back to Kandy, you will visit the Royal Botanical Garden, which is covered by colorful flower plants, herbal plants, endemic and epidemic plant species, and palm family trees. Then you will head to Udawattakele forest reserve, which is popular among foreign tourists for bird watchers, Overnight stay at The Golden Crown or a similar hotel in Kandy.
Walking around the Kandy lake is a wonderful experience for nature lovers, where you can witness various bird species, bat varieties, and fish species. Then, you will travel to Kitulgala and enjoy water rafting in the Kelani River. In the evening, you can explore the Belilena, a prehistoric cave complex, to find some unique bird species. You can visit the Makandawa rainforest in Kitulgala for another bird-watching experience and then proceed to Hambantota. The next destination would be Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary. The journey begins with a catamaran for about 2 hours, where you can watch many residential birds, migratory birds, and endemic birds. The next bird-watching tour begins early in the morning at Sinharaja rain forest, where you can explore about 280 different kinds of bird species, including 34 endemic species. On the last day, there are no itinerary plans, and you will be dropped back to the airport according to your flight departure time.
